Today a Blessed Easter

Here in London we are enjoying really sunny weather. It is just gorgeous but it leaves us at the weekend. This is a shame as our local Community are veg box building all weekend-still it is meant to be dry so lots of tea will keep us going. I am going to take my camera with me so I can share with you my DIY skills!!

Today my Easter card is a bit different than the last few days as it focuses on the real meaning of Easter and a cross is the main feature. I wanted to make it a plain layout with the cross being prominent. I did add my own twist with a contemporary shaped cross in funky colours.

I like the earthy brown colour mixed with the pink and green. I added the gems just because it seemed to balance the card.

Well enjoy the sun whilst it lasts and have a fun day x

I am going to enter this into the following 'Easter' Challenges:
Fab n Funky
Crafty Sentiments

The cross is a Dotted Daisy Design and the sentiment is a Lindsay Stamp Stuff design both can be found at mygrafico.com

Eggstra Special Easter Wishes!

Just popping in quickly with another Easter card to share with you.

Today I have used the same wooden stamp but different colours, papers and and cute sentiment form mygrafico
This time I coloured the stamp with 'pink carnation' and 'yellow' promakers, inked the edges with 'wild plum' Ranger ink and added some ribbon from my stash.

I really love these bright and cheerful Easter colours-hope you do too!

I will enter this into the following 'Easter' challenges:

Enjoy the sun today. I think I will be off for a walk in the park today.

Easter Wishes

I have finally got around to making a few Easter cards.

Here is one I made earlier today, like yesterday, all cheery spring colours-hope you smile:

The little Easter eggs are a wooden rubber stamp but I am not sure where it is from as it was given to me as a pressie. I haven't used promakers that much recently but found it quite relaxing today colouring these cute little eggs. I used the colours 'grass' and 'orchid'-yes that really is meant to be lilac but on a background of yellow it appears like milk chocolate, so appropriate for Easter! The sentiment is from Desert Diva. A few splashes of some yummy lilac ribbon and Easter card number 1 done!

I am entering this into the Twisted Sketches challenge this week, the twist being 'green'.
I will also enter it into the Easter challenges at Moving Along With The Times and Crafty Boots

April Showers!

Now spring is really here. The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the flowers are blooming. The colours of Spring are all around us.

But don't forget that 'April Showers' will always surprise us so don't forget to carry your umbrella so nothing will stop you from singing and dancing as the 'raindrops keep falling on your head' (I know corny but I hope it made you smile!!)

And to celebrate Spring I have made the 'April' topper for our kitchen calendar. Full of cheerful spring colours.

Gosh I thought you could see the sentiment from the photo but it doesn't seem to have come out so well......so it says 'Raindrops keep falling on my head'.

I am hoping these bright colours will make me smile everyday of April!
This umbrella digi image is from Anji's Antics.

I will be entering this into the following challenges:
Sassy Cheryls 'think Spring'

Mums

This week my Mum has been staying with me helping out whilst I have had a few hospital appointments. Her support and love is something that I feel very special to have. So what better way to show her this than to make a card for her.

I loved this sentiment as I feel it is so true-if you can't quite see it from the photo it says-'Mums are like buttons. They hold things together'-see what I mean!

Mum had mentioned how she liked a card I had made that was black and pink so I went for these colours added a few buttons held together with black and white bakers twine.

I will be entering this into the following challenges:

Cas-ual Fridays -to use black and pastels
Ribbon carousel -to use bakers twine
Fab n Funky -in honour of Mums

The sentiment is from pink petticoat

Thinking of you

Yippee the weekend is here. Hope you all have a fun time planned with plenty of chilling involved!

I decided I needed to make a few 'thinking of you' cards to add to my collection. I haven't used my animal print paper for a while and I love the way it mixes so well with the jute twine and Kraft card. I felt I wanted to add a striking splash of colour and this button was perfect. I was admiring Nancy's card (check it out by clicking on her name) and she mentioned it was My Time Made Easy 's 1 year anniversary so I followed their sketch challenge for the occasion.

And here is my card:

The sentiment is from Wild Rose Studio and the animal print is from Kanban Crafts.

I will also enter this into the 'thinking of you' challenge at Scrap book Sisters .

Enjoy the weekend x

Mum's Day

I know it is a few days early but I made my Mum a small gift for Mother's day on Sunday and wanted to share this with you.
I used the gift box tutorial by Sheryl here. It is the same one I used for my husband's Valentine's chocolate surprise here. This time I just changed the colours and added a die cut flower, gems, ribbons and pearls. I used this week colour combo at Colourq.

The front of the box looks like this:

And the back:

And I am now off to buy some chocs to fill it with!

I will be entering this into the challenges at:
Colourq (colour combo)
Allsorts (say it with flowers)
Mums Craft Shop (Mums the word)

Have a good day x

Lets go cycling!

Today I have had the joy of being in the dentist chair for a charmingly painful procedure. Still a nap, some sloppy soup and a funny movie later I was starting to feel a bit more human and decided to make a card.

This card is for my neighbour's Birthday. He has taken up cycling to work to get fit so I thought this image from My Grafico was perfect for him. His bike is not quite like this but you get the idea!!

I will be entering this into the following challenges:
Colour Throwndown
crazy amigo
Paper and Such

I am hoping tomorrow is dentist and pain free x

We are all rich!

Ever wished you would win the lottery? Have you dreamt of how you would spend the money? I have but it is all just dreams!!

You don't need money to feel rich..........as my card today reminds us........all you have to do is 'count the things you have that money can't buy!'

Top of my list are my Family and Friends-money can't buy them but I am richer for them!

So.....what's on your list???

This sentiment is from Ginger House. Hard to see from the photo (taken in poor light) but the brown card is embossed and layered onto embossed cream card before being layered on to the blank card stock. I added a wooden button from my stash and threaded jute twine through it. A small pearl added to the corner for a subtle bit of bling.

I will be entering this into the 'sentiment' challenges at Cas-ual Fridays and The Secret Crafters

Have rich and fruitful day x

Hello Again!

I have not been too well over the last week so my creative side was taking a break but today at I am back to share a card with you and today my card is for my Mother in Law, Jean.

Here in England Mother's Day is next Sunday and here is Jean's card to let her know that we love her dearly:

The Greatest Gift of All

I am sure you will agree that our families are the greatest gift of all.

We don't really tell them often enough so sometimes the days like Mothers Day, Fathers day and Birthdays are a little prompt to remind us.
And as Mother's Day is only a few weeks away here is my card for my Mum to let her know how much she is loved:

I love the colours in this, they are so full of hope for the Summer. I have just picked my home grown daffodils today for the very first time and they are sat proudly on my coffee table so this yellow is just perfect match to the flowers.......yes I always put my cards up on my mantle piece so I can see if after a day or so I am still happy with them or they need a bit of tweaking!!

These colours were chosen from the combo this week at colourq. I have embossed the 'daffodil' yellow background card and the 'lucky lemonade' card used to make the flower. I will enter it into the embossing challenge at Stamp and Doodle. This is a fabric ribbon with gorgeous stitching-hard to see from the photo but the stitching is brown, green and yellow.
I wanted to use a simple layout as I felt the sentiment should be the main focus and the sketch at Skipping Stones fitted perfectly.

The sentiment is from Create at TLC.-this is a great site-check it out.

I hope you are enjoying the first day of March.
