Time Out Challenges #34

Happy Friday Eve,

I think we all need to take some TIME OUT and craft a little. We have our photo challenge at Time Out Challenges for the next 2 weeks. This challenge is based around home interiors. I do love this challenge and here is our photo:

This photo gave me so many ideas to create. Would I go with the bricks, the pinks, reds, touch of grey and black, how about chevrons?

However the more I looked at this I kept thinking of using a negative die to represent the door and what do you say when you open the door...hello. I created this:

I used a touch of the pink and I have actually embossed the top card with a brick looking plate although it is hard to see this in the photo.

This week our Guest Designer is Sue. Her blog really is a delight to visit-pop over there and you will be inspired!

Our DT have all created outstanding cards that you can check out here

Then kick back, take a look at the photo and create!

Inkspirational #85

A very Happy Weekend to you all,

We have our 'word prompt' challenge at Inkspirational and this time our word is:

WILD

Here is my take on this word:

I went with the idea of going a little 'wild' when creating. When starting out along the creative route we all need to take a little 'wild' step-well I certainly did. I had never been creative before and card making needed me to' create without fear', I needed to' unleash my creativity' and 'dare to be creative'. All steps that felt a little 'wild' to me. Now I do create, I  tend to stay in my comfort zone of CAS. Perhaps now and then I should get a little wild and go all patterned paper, layers and ribbons on you!

Out Guest Designer this week is Jen. Her blog, My Paper Epiphany is full of inspiring projects. Take a look around and leave her some love.

Our DT have all got different takes on the word-take a look here and then get inky!

Uniko June Challenge

Hi All

It is time for our June Challenge at Uniko Studio and this month our theme is:

Anything Goes with the optional twist of a masculine card.

I went for the twist as this card is for one special man in my life. I made a card using my favourite Uniko stamp Paradise Humming Bird. You have seen me use this many times but there are still many different ways I could use this.

I started here by embossing the stamp and then used the water colour masking fluid on the stamp so I could create a sky water colour look around the image. This took a while to dry. I then water coloured the bird in yellow. This was left over night to flatten under boxes.

For this challenge we are joined by 2 amazing Guest Designers, Anita and Melissa. Both are so very creative and I would take some time out to visit their blogs.

Anita, Melissa and the DT have all made some amazing cards to inspire us-you can check them out here. Where you will also see all the ways you can win Uniko goodies!

Time Out Reminder

Have you played along with our latest challenge at Time Out Challenges?

It is our 'Inspired by Words' challenge and the words are:

'Happy is the Bride that the sun shines on'

You can be inspired by any of these words or the whole phrase. Last week I went with the Wedding theme but this week I went for 'sun' and created this:

I did some masking and water colouring to create a sunset and sea scene and then embossed my sentiment. Then I popped this up on some patterned paper-yes my friends, patterned paper!

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Sue. We are so happy that Sue is joining us and you can check out her blog, Sue's card Craft, and I assure you that you will come away ready to craft.

Our DT have made some wonderful creations to inspire you. Check them out here.

Now, you sure do need some TIME OUT to get crafty and join in the fun xx

Addicted to Stamps and More is 3!

At Addicted to Stamps and More we are celebrating our 3rd Birthday!

Kylie started this blog 3 years ago and it has grown and grown. Her hard work, organisation and team leadership has inspired this growth-so congratulations Kylie on this special day!

Our challenge this week is 'Clean and Simple' and I have made a 'celebration' card for our Birthday.

I have die cut 5 celebration and the top one is covered in WOS but unfortunately you can't see it in the photo. However IRL it is all sparkly.

Our sponsors this week are:

They are all fabulous sponsors and please do visit their stores so you can see some goodies that you could win.

I am looking forward to seeing how you help us celebrate our 3rd Birthday.

I will enter this into the 'Stacked Dies' challenge at Just Us Girls

Happy Holidays

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

This week as soon as I saw Chriss's card at Muse:Christmas Visions I knew I wanted to play along. I made this card a few days and am finally getting now to post it.

I loved Chriss's CAS design and the sweet little bird perched on the sentiment. My card is very similar except I made mine one layer and changed the position of the bird.

This wreath stamp is a new one, to me, from Winnie and Walter, the little bird is from Uniko and the sentiment is from PTI

I think a few of these cards will be made as they are very quick to do and being one layer will cut the cost of postage!

I will be off to have a look at the other Christmas visions later x

Love

A very Happy Friday my crafty friends,

The other day I told you about a new challenge site I had come across, Sovushka Slavia and today I have a card for their latest CASE challenge.

I have combined this with the 'sunset' colour challenge at Less is More

The die I have cut from another attempt of painting a sunset freehand-if you look closely at the 'LO' you will see my moon! I sponged on a bit of extra orange to the die as the freehand sunset was a bit too pale to stand out against the ivory.

I got the idea for the layout from the CASE card by Vanessa at Sovushka Slavia. Here is her card:

I went with the bold die and instead of flowers behind the die I used a kiss stamp.

Enjoy your day x

Time Out # 33

Happy Friday Eve,

It is time for our 'Inspired by Words' challenge at Time Out Challenges and our words are:

'Happy is the bride that the sun shines on'

You can use any of these word-just one like 'happy' or 'sun' or perhaps combine 2 or 3 or be inspired by the whole phrase. I have gone with the whole phrase and made a Wedding Card-I actually made this some time ago as it was for Wedding in March but have saved it until today to share;

Some of you may remember I posted a card way back in Feb for the same Wedding. The card base is the colour of the Bridesmaids' dresses. Quite a hard colour to work with but the silver embossing works for me. All the sentiment stamps are form Uniko Studio. My linen embossing plate added texture to my card.

Our DT have made super cards to inspire you, check them out here.

Then you know what to do-

Take some TIME OUT and join us x

The Card Concept #37

It is time for my second DT post for The Card Concept.

I am one of their 'Clean and Simple' design team members for June. To play along with this challenge you can create cards in lots of different styles-check them out here.

For this challenge we have this inspiration photo:

Isn't this just fabulous. I was inspired by the butterflies and colours. I came up with this, using water colours and embossing in white first.

I have used similar designs before but this time I stepped away from my 'go to' colours of pink and purple and had a go at using the blues and greens like the some of the butterflies in the photo.

Our Guest Designer for June is Hannelie and her style is clean and graphic. Check out her blog Desert Diva and I am sure you will come away inspired.

Now it is your turn to create. Have fun and link up before noon PST on June 22nd.

I will enter this into:

Long Time No See

My card today was inspired by a few challenges.

Here is my card:

I have used the sketch from a new to me challenge, Sovushka Slavia. This is a CAS sketch challenge that I found via Ksenija who I started following recently after she won at Time Out Challenges-check out her blog here, I really love her cards.

I got the idea to use this stamp as I wanted to enter the One Layer Simplicity Challenge-round and round, make a one layer card with 2 circles on it. I was trying to think of something for this and remembered this stamp has 2 clock faces on it!

And I will also enter it into Happy Little Stampers-sprays and mists. I have used a spray stamp here so I am hoping this will be o.k

Plus the one layer challenge at As you see it Challenge

This card is on its way to a friend I haven't seen for a while x

Hello

Hello All,

Today I have a sunset water colour card for you.

I wanted to enter the sunset colour challenge at Less is More and decided to combine this with the Pretty Pink Posh water colour blog hop.

Here is my card:

I often try out different water colour techniques and this circle sunset has actually been punched from a bigger water colour sunset that I was not happy with but kept in case I could use at a different time. All I have done is used my punched a circle out and added my 'hello' die. I really like how it turned out plus I still have some more of this 'mistake' left.

I will enter this into:

Less is More-sunset colour

Thank You Fusion

A very Happy Sunday,

Yet again I have been inspired by the photo at Fusion. Actually I used the photo like a sketch-it is the lay out of my card. The photo just kept saying to me.....'use a negative die'. So I have. I also used the colours and wood grain in the photo to create this:

I have always like ivory and white when making cards but often forget to do so but I came up with the idea as I wanted my wood grain card to be more wood like!

I got to use my new Winnie and Walter scenery stripes to create the green borders. Before I had these I would have used card but this was much easier to do and I like the cleaner look.

Here is the photo that inspired me:

Enjoy your day x

Another Christmas Card!

Happy Friday my friends!

I have another Christmas card for you today. 2 this week!!

I have not played along at the Muse Christmas Visions yet but this week the card by Kimberly really caught my eye. I loved the Christmas scene she had created all in a little circle. Here is my CASE:

I had no idea how to do this and I don't have any curvy dies. I just sat down on the floor with a few punches, dies and scissors until I came up with this. I used lots of slightly different white glitter card so you could see the dimension and the base card has been embossed with my fav. linen embossing folder. This card was fiddly for me to create but was fun playing around to challenge myself to see if I could create a little scene in a circle.

Thanks Kimberly for this inspiration. Here is Kimberly's card:

I will aslo enter this into the mononchromatic challenges at Virginia's View Challenge and Colour Me

Santa is Coming to Town!

Hello All

Today I have a one layer Christmas card for you that was inspired by the sketch this week at CAS(E) this sketch. I had an idea for this sketch and was looking for the dies I wanted to use but came across a Casual Fridays stamp I haven't used for a while and the sentiment just looked perfect for this sketch. See what you think:

All the star stamps are from different Uniko sets

I will also enter this into the challenge at One Layer Christmas Card

Here is the sketch:

Addicted to Stamps and More #147

Hello All

It is time for our 'Make your Mark' challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More. This is the challenge that really challenges me! I made this card a while ago and am not that impressed with it and decided to share it anyway. I was practising my water colouring.

I gold embossed first and then water coloured trying to make the centre of the flower darker. Finished it off with some spritz glitter.

We are sponsored this week by Dee dees digis-check out their amazing store.

Our DT have done a great job at 'making their mark'-check out their cards here and then get creating!

Martini Time!

Is it time for a Martini yet?

Every Friday night my hubby, Callum, gets home from work and mixes himself a Martini. That is when he really knows another week of work is done and it is time to relax.

I saw this card by blogging friend Barb a few weeks ago, loved it and had a little go myself using some Paper smooches goodies I got for my Birthday (thank you Sarah)

The Martini glasses are stamped in silver delicate ink so do sparkle along with the top 'celebrate' die that is covered with WOS. Hard to see in the photo but IRL it sparkles!

I will enter this into the 'Anything Goes' challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks
