Oh What Fun!

Hope you are all having a good day,

I have just made a card that is quite different for me. I have used patterned paper, a banner and paper pieced. Honestly, I really have plus I had a lot of fun creating this:

This was inspired by Tracey's card at Muse. I went with the kraft, the lay out and instead of a leaf, I added this fun banner. I cut a slit in the top of the mug so I could pierce my banner into the it. I have stamped the 'cool beans' in the centre of the mug but the rest has been paper pieced using paper I found that matched the banner.

I was going to make this card more CAS but decided to go with more patterns after I saw the latest 'Birthday' challenge at The Challenge. I loved all the patterns in the photo and I also used the colours as a base.

I am joining the The Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop with this card as my colours have an Autumn feel.

The sentiment stamp is from Happy Little Stampers. They have a new release out-check it out here.

Enjoy your day x

The Science of Dreams

Hello there,

Over the last few days there have been some really inspiring challenges that I have wanted to join in and then today up pops the latest challenge from CASology and I had a light bulb moment...and combined 3 of these challenges.

Here is my card:

Did you know the 'Science of Dreams' is called 'Oneirology'? When I saw the 'Science' challenge at CASology I googled 'types of sciences' and a huge list came up. On the list was the 'Science of Dreams'.

Light bulb moment...combine the 'dream' challenge at Addicted to CAS with CASology plus the 'word play' challenge at AAA cards. I love cards that focus on the sentiment so the AAA challenge was on my list.

I do love this sentiment. It is an old Verve sentiment and I just did some masking so I could emphasis the 'dream' part of it. Added a few hearts from Uniko and linen embossed to give me a one layer CAS card.

I will also enter this into the Geek Chic challenge at The City Crafter

Have a dreamy day x

Muse Bubbles

Hi All

Today my card was inspired by Anita's card at Muse. As soon as I saw Anita's card I loved how she had created the bubble background and wanted to give it a go.

Here is my attempt:

This took me such a long time as I wanted to use 2 different tiny circle stamps I have from STAMPlorations. I hadn't realised it would take ages to stamp and heat emboss. I then water coloured over these in soft pastel colours as Anita did.

Not my usual style but I did find it fun to do something a bit different.

Here is Anita's card and thanks for the inspiration Anita.

Inkspirational #92

A very happy weekend my crafty friends,

This week at Inkspirational we have our photo challenge.

Here is my take on the photo:

Here is the photo:

I was inspired by the Autumn colours, leaves and texture.

My 'Happy' die is cut from cork and layered onto a linen card base to give my card the texture I wanted.

This week we are joined by Jen as our Guest Designer. Check out her blog Magic Flying Boots and you will see so much creativity.

Our DT have all come up with some wonderful examples of how to interpret this photo-take a look here.

Time to get inky and join in the fun.

I will enter this into:

Round and Round we go!

A very Happy Friday,

My card today was inspired by three challenges.

Here it is:

First off I got the colours from this week's photo at The Challenge. The bright pink and grey cushions caught my eye immediately.
Next, I had lots of ideas for the 'circles' challenge at CASology but waited for the sketch to come out yesterday at CAS(E) this Sketch. I find when I have a few ideas for the CASology challenge that CAS(E) this sketch can help me channel them. I often enter these challenges together.

I ended up with a one layer circle card, with the pops of colour I wanted and to add more circles used some white sequins.

I will also enter this into the 'no designer paper' challenge at SSS Wednesday

Hope you like it and have a fun day x

Time Out Reminder #40

Happy Friday Eve,

Have you joined our CASE challenge at Time Out Challenges?

Tracey, who I am sure many of you know from her amazing blog In My Creative Opinion has given us a card to CASE.

Here is my card CASE of Tracey's card:

I loved Tracey's card and last week went with flowers. This week I opted for butterflies-one embossed on vellum and the other stamped and coloured with copics. Both have  WOS covering them but you can't really see it in the photo. IRL it is all sparkly-just how we like it!

This butterfly stamp is from Butterfly Birthdays from Happy Little Stampers.

At Time Out Challenges our Guest Designer is Stempelfrida. She has really taken a unique and totally inspiring take on Tracey's card-actually both this week and last-take a look at her blog here.

Here is Tracey's card:

What can I say....stunning and you have until Wed 5pm BST to join in...get inky and take some TIME OUT to play xx

I will also enter this into the 'Nature' challenge at Make My Monday
And the colouring challenge at Happy Little Stampers

The Card Concept #40-Forest Friends.

Hello,

It is time for a new challenge at The Card Concept. This week we have this very cute photo to inspire you:

Isn't this a cute group of cuddly friends all having a chat? I was inspired by this idea and also attracted to the texture, especially the felt. I am one of the CAS designers for The Card Concept and therefore created this card:

I went with speech bubbles as the friends are having a good old natter! And I cut one of the bubbles in felt to represent the texture. I used kraft as most of the photo reminds me of Autumn colours.

This month we are very pleased that our Guest Designer is Kim. She is such a creative designer-check out her blog here

What I love about the challenges at The Card Concept is that you can enter using lots of different designs. I am a true 'Clean and Simple' designer but our Designers have lots of different design types-check out our blog here and you will see what I mean. It is here you will also see an explanation of the design types.

We love you to comment on other entries-we all do love comments.

You have until Monday 5th October noon PST to enter.

Enjoy x

Fusion-Peacock Dynasty

Are you ready for our new challenge at Fusion?

Here is our inspiration:

I went with the photo. I was drawn to the yellow background which looks like water colour splash to me. Plus the peacock looks very Regal to me in gold and teal. I don't have a peacock stamp so went with my Hummingbird stamp from Uniko.

This card is gold embossed and water coloured:

Here is how to play:

1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.

Don't forget to check out the DT fabulous cards here

Enjoy!

I will enter this into:

Time Out Challenge #40

A very Happy Friday Eve,

Are you ready for out new challenge at Time Out Challenges?

We have reached our CASE challenge. This is where we share with you a card from another crafter and you use this card to inspire you to create.

We are very privileged that we have Tracey, one of the stars from blogland joining us for this challenge. Tracey's blog In My Creative Opinion is a delight to visit and full of inspiring cards.

Here is my CASE of Tracey's card:

I loved Tracey's card as soon as I saw it and didn't change much. I heat embossed the Uniko flower on vellum and fussy cut it out. I then used my water colour paints to flow into one another as the base and popped the flower up on a foam add dimension. Here is Tracey's card:

Isn't it a wonder!

This week our Guest Designer is the very talented Stempelfrida. She oftens joins us at Time Out and we love to see all her inspiring challenges. Check out her blog here and you will see creativity bloom!

Don't forget to pop over to Time Out Challenges and see what our DT have created for you.

I am looking forward to seeing how you are inspired.

I will enter this card into the following challenges:

Inkspirational #91

Time for a new challenge at Inkspirational.

It is our colour challenge and this time we are going with 'Orange and Green' You can use any shade of orange (eg peach, tangerine, coral) with any shade of green . You may also use black, white or cream and realistic colours for skin, fur and hair.

Here is my card:

If you follow my blog you will know I struggle with colouring however I bought some new flower stamps so that I could try to practice a little more. This is a NBUS Penny Black stamp. It is relaxing colouring but I can't say I am ever too pleased with the end result. When I got to posting my card I relaised I had forgotten to add green so that meant a very quick fix by adding a few gems. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations-another NBUS!

Our Guest Designer this week is Chriss-check out her amazing blog here. Then pop over to Inkspirational and see what our DT have got to inspire you x

I will enter this into Darnell's NBUS challenge as both the image and sentiment stamps have not been used before.
I will also enter into colouring challenge at HLS CAS challenge

Congratulations Shery!

Hi All,

Today at Time Out Challenges we are celebrating the fact that our very own Design Team member Shery last week became a first time Mum.

Congratulations Shery.

Here is my card to celebrate your good news:

When I sat down to make this card I was in the mood to make a graphic card and looked for a sketch that would inspire me. I found this one at Happy Little Stampers

Pretty graphic right? Well once I looked through my stamps for something I wanted to use, I went a completely different direction. However I followed the sketch and really liked the end result.

My colour scheme comes from the latest inspiration photo at Just Add Ink. Here I liked the mix of pink, purple and orange. As you know I like pink and purple but thought mixing this with orange was quite a cool idea. Here is their photo:

Peace on Earth

Hello my friends,

I haven't had much time this weekend to craft but I just had a little browse around blog land and saw a few challenges that inspired me to make this card:

First off the 'green and gold' challenge at Less is More immediately made me think of Christmas. This led me to look up this week's Muse: Christmas Visions challenge. Kimberly is the Muse this week and her gold embossed card gave me the idea for my card. I went with a wreath instead of tress but did hunt out a sentiment that was the same. I felt the sentiment needed a little extra so added a gold embossed holly.

It was hard to keep it all gold and green but that was the challenge at Less is More so challenged I was!

I will also enter this into the 'Holly' challenge at Happy Little Stamper Christmas Challenge

I will also enter into the 'spectacular embossing' challenge at AAA cards

This is a fortnightly challenge where you have a photo and a sketch and you can choose to use either one of these or both.

These stamps are all from Uniko.

Here is how to play:

PROCEDURES:
1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.

Don't forget to check out the DT cards here-you will see why I said they are so talented!

Looking forward to seeing what you create x

Time Out Challenges #39

Another Friday Eve is here and what better way to start the 'almost' weekend by crafting.

At Time Out Challenges is our theme week and the theme is:

'Take some TIME OUT to Make your Mark'

This is a new theme for us and basically means you can use any kind of marker on your project-pencils, chalks, copics, water colours etc.

I have used all Uniko Stamps for my card today and used promarkers to colour the flower.

I based my lay out on the sketch at Sovushka Slavia. This is another card for my hubby as it is our 10th Wedding Anniversary next week. I have made a few now but this one he will have to get as 10 years will not be around again!

Our Guest Designer this week is Marika and I have to say I think this was the best challenge for her to be our GD as her expertise on colouring is outstanding. If you don't already know her, check out her blog Me and Minime Crafting

We are very pleased that this week we are sponsored by Uniko-check out our blog here to see what you could win!

Also this is the first challenge of our new DT members Joyce and Jill and they have made some amazing inspiration cards for you-I urge you to go over and show them some love! Plus don't forget the rest of out lovely team.

Looking forward to seeing what you create x
